Time to change
There are so many individuals out there that aren't quite ready for change. The requirement to turn everything on it's head, to get their nutrition sorted, their lifestyle remapped and their training in order. Even if you are not ready for the full impact of total change, initial small tweaks are a step in the right direction. You might read different articles (a lot of which you'll discard as rubbish) some you'll adhere to, yet some you'll dismiss; although each article will have elements of information in it, small tips you can take away, drip feeding yourself with more information each time.
This change of your lifestyle will be a progressive one which shouldn't be forced, it's not that 6 week body transformation diet plan you need, you need sustainability, proper education and guidance. Don't be too forceful on yourself on what you want too achieve, after all the way you are now has taken you this long to look at yourself and realise change is needed. So what's taken this number of years to create who you are, realistically and successfully these quick fix body transformations are not going to re-educate you out of your engrained bad habits.
It's the gradual re-education of lifestyle choices you need.Your change is going to be a new journey, but it's not going to happen overnight. Habits are so hard to break whether they be good or bad. The way you've lived your life up to now has been built on so many habits and unless you are a unique individual who can reorganise whats taken ex amount of years of the wrong habits and choices then you must have excellent willpower. You just need to ask yourself has any of it been sustainable.

Change is as good as a rest or so they say. I can't think of anything better than a healthier lifestyle change, there's only you that's going to live with you for the rest of your life, so change it for the better and live it in the best of health and to the best of your ability. I keep using the word sustainable because it's so apt especially with regards to healthy living. Whatever successful way you are going to try and change, the way you are living your life needs to be a sustainable way. There's not one diet out there that has ever been a sustainable one, OK lose a few pounds in a few weeks with that latest recommended by your friend diet but I guarantee you'll gain more weight as that diet will not be sustained.
Change your lifestyle for life, don't just diet until temptation gives way, you know you are doomed then. The sod it approach will hit you after that, after all you've had one piece of chocolate so you may as well eat the bar, actually there's three bars in that packet. Your diet is ruined now so whats the point.
My partner does the weight watchers points thing, has she lost weight, yes. She's doing it again because it worked for her last time and the time before that, her friends have done it on and off too, as their weight fluctuates they turn to the points system. That always works when they've gained it back.
Where's the sustainability in that?
Definition of sustainability; able to be maintained at a certain rate or level.
Definition of change; an act or process through which something becomes different.
So let's CHANGE your lifestyle and make it SUSTAINABLE.
For so many of us I think this is a re-education of (and I will say it again) a habits issue. We've become slaves to bad habits. We all know (and if we don't we should by now) what is good or bad, right and wrong. Not only with regards to what we put in our mouths, but also what we are doing with our lifestyles. Or is it a convenience issue, the fact that we are all busy people. It's not that either, the truth of the matter and I'm going to say it, is the fact that we've all become too lazy and can't actually be bothered with anything remotely difficult, everything has to be easy.
4 week diet plan, oh that's easy it's only 4 weeks. I'm not going to do that lifestyle change one, imagine how hard that's going to be, doing it for life. That's not for me, 4 weeks is just enough, just in time for my hols EASY.
What's for tea tonight mum? Get a McDonalds if you want love, in fact get one for us all, and make them all large I'm starving, the amount of energy I've used today sat behind my desk, I need the refuel. It's only £20 plus it will save on actually cooking something healthy and the washing up. We've only had 2 this week so it's fine love EASY
I'm going to have to remember to order food on line, I'm sick of walking around bloody supermarkets. The putting it in bags carrying it to the car and half the time you can't find a space, I had to park 3 spaces away from the door the other day. I wouldn't mind but there were two disabled ones next to me with no cars in them. Looking for the EASY option always.
It's the same at the gym last time I went, last year I had to park in the bottom of the car park and walk up the hill to the door. Why can't all the spaces be near the door. Oh no, no EASY option again.
I could go on and on. Please people let's change what we've become, gradually and progressively let's become a slave to good habits, lets not always go for the easy options, let's begin a life of fun health and vitality. You know you want to and honestly it isn't that difficult. The hardest step to take is always that first step, but it will be in the right direction, I know making a lifestyle change is scary; but you know whats even scarier, the regret when you didn't do it.
Step forward and be counted, do it for you. If time for you has been an issue, then make the time. There is always time for change. For encouragement, motivation or for most a kick up the proverbial.
